Currently operating one flight each on the Auckland-Singapore route, the expansion plans would see Singapore Airlines operate one additional daily flight between October 2018 and March  2019 with the Boeing 777-300ERs and Air New Zealand operating its B787 from March 2019 to October 2019 five times a week on the route.

The new arrangement will create an additional 165,000 annual seats on the route.

Finnair business class refresh is finn-ished and it has everything but the sauna

FINNAIR-NORDIC-BUSINESS-CLASS-CABIN.jpg

Finnish national carrier Finnair has launched its new Nordic business class (or to be more apt ‘refresh’). Having previously flown in their business class cabin, one thing that always strikes you is the colourful fabrics splashed across the glacial aesthetics. Thankfully that scandic charm hasn’t been lost at all on the new design with the Marimekko very much core to the new look.

The new cabin will have a suite of new and enhanced offerings from new soft furnishings to a more extensive food and wine menu.

One of Sweden’s top chefs, Tommy Myllymaki, has been roped in to create a new Nordic inspired menu. It will be rolled out at the same time as the new cabin design. Along with a new menu, business class passengers will enjoy restaurant style dining at a time convenient to them.

Admittedly  I’m a tad envious of those flying out on morning flights out of Asia. These fortunate flyers will get to indulge in the fine food art of Kahvikutsut. This is a Finnish tradition where coffee is consumed with seven traditional treats including Carelian pies, cinnamon buns, coffee cake, and chocolates. I think I may need to loosen the belt a notch here if I were to experience this. Looks delicious!

Finnair’s New Nordic business Class Cabin will take flight on 7 February 2018 on A350 flights from Helsinki to Seoul, Tokyo, and Shanghai. It is expected to be rolled out across all long-haul routes by late 2018.
